ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Privatisation Commission, Daniyal Aziz strongly Wednesday condemned the news aired on ARY News and the statement made by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla during a recent press conference.
The minister said legal notices would be served on both the parties for defamation and airing false news, a clarification statement said.
The ARY news item has falsely accused Minister Daniyal Aziz for financial mismanagement and delaying the restructuring/ privatization process of Pakistan Steel Mills causing an alleged monthly loss of Rs760 million to the national exchequer.
In addition to the above allegations, Senator Saleem Mandiwalla has also accused the federal minister for intentionally selling national assets listed on the privatization programme, especially PIA, to his favorites, threatening Daniyal Aziz of legal actions against him, it further said.
Furthermore, both parties have used derogatory language against the minister, which is highly condemnable and defamatory holding no factual basis, the statement said.
