Scientists of UAF and department of agriculture, Government of Punjab have marked a new chapter of success by introducing fertiliser models of nitrogen and phosphorus keeping in view soil analysis and type of crops in the district. This was revealed during a training workshop aiming to equip the officers of soil fertility and agricultural extension of district Gujranawala and Bahawalpur with various aspects of the aforesaid fertiliser models.
Addressing the participants, former DG Extension of Ayub Agricultural Research Institute, Dr Rashid Ahmad said constant and robust efforts of scientists resulted in making a successful fertiliser ratio keeping in view soil fertility, structure and other analytical conditions. He told the participants that in the first phase, a training workshop for Faisalabad and Multan districts was organised with the same objective coupled with setting up call centres in the respective areas of the participants.
He was of the view that fertiliser prices are increasing day by day and it has become very difficult for the farming community to get rational benefits out of their investment. Therefore, it is the need of time to introduce a comprehensive fertiliser model to enable the farmers get highest potential yield of their crops. He urged the participants to make all out efforts in setting up call centres for the farming community so that they can apply only the needful volume of the fertiliser on crops.
