Government contemplating allowing resumption of Nato supplies

The government in said to have decided, in principle, to allow Nato to resume its supplies to Afghanistan, it is learnt. However, it would never allow the US to conduct any unilateral military operation on Pakistan's territory.
According to well-placed sources, this decision was taken on Friday during a meeting between Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. Sources also stated that the government could also place its decision in relation to Nato supplies before Parliament. In this regard, the Prime Minister has started consultations with coalition partners.
However, the sources revealed that the government has not yet decided on the date of resumption of Nato supplies. The government suspended Nato supplies to Afghanistan in the wake of November 26, 2011 unprovoked air strikes on two Pakistani check-posts in Mohmand Agency. The attack resulted in martyrdom of 24 soldiers.
