Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 97,025 tonnes of cargo comprising 74,977 tonnes of import cargo and 22,048 tonnes of export cargo including 3,289 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 74,977 tonnes comprised of 20,953 tonnes of containerised cargo; 18,531 tonnes of coal and 35,493 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,048 tonnes comprised of 15,675 tonnes of containerised cargo; 80 tonnes of general cargo; 3,693 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,426 tonnes of rice; 1,267 tonnes of cement and 2,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely APL Brisbane, President Truman, Emirates Kabir, Hanjin Monaco, Viona and Ocean Light carrying two container shipsand one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five ships namely YM Fuzhou, Tessa, Taban-1, Lodestar Genesis and Oriental Kerria with three container ships and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely APL Sokhna and Dong-A-Tyche with one container ship and one chemical carrier respectively due to arrive on Friday, while eight vessels viz Pardis, Wan Hai-603, Lt. Trieste, YM Europe, Chembulk Singapore, Celenda Melody, Golden Dynasty and Le He carrying four container ships, one chemical carrier, one mogas carrier, one palm oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 60,357 tonnes, comprising 46,163 tonnes of import cargo and 14,194 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,039 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 46,163 tonnes includes 2,404 tonnes of LPG; 12,657 tonnes of palm oil; 466 tonnes of project cargo and 30,636 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 14,194 tonnes includes 2,014 tonnes of rice and 12,180 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two container ships namely CV Nexoe Maersk and CV Safmarine Ngami sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Eiffel and MT Gas Elixir carrying containers and LPG are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels CV CMA CGM Eiffel, CV Nexoe Maersk, CV Safmarine Ngami, MV Fisher-K, MV Ionian Sea, MV Frauke, MT Chemroad Rose and MT Gas Elixir are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, project cargo, palm oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.
Two ships namely Sapphire-II and MT Lahore with cement and furnace oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two vessels viz CV Catania and MT Lahore carrying ontainers and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
Three ships namely CV MSC Henry, MV Afamia and MT Cader Galaxy scheduled to load/offload containers, rice and palm oil are due to arrive on Friday, while three more ships namely MT Synnove Knutsen, MT Cape Tampa and MV Palute carrying phosphoric acid, palm oil and canola seeds are due to arrive on Saturday. As many as four vessels viz Sealand Michigan, Al-Noof-II, Maersk Kentucky and EnricoIevoli carrying containers and phosphoric acid are also expected to arrive at Port Qasim.
