Prime Minister warns of 'detrimental response' to border attacks: Kayani meets Gilani

Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here on Friday and discussed with him matters pertaining to the national security in the backdrop of Mohmand Agency incident. General Kayani apprised the prime minister of the steps taken on the western boarders to revamp the defence capabilities aimed at effectively countering the recurrence of incursion into the Pakistan territory.
The prime minister said that the democratic government would not allow similar attack on the country's sovereignty and any attempt in future would definitely meet with detrimental response. He said that the government and the people of Pakistan were ready to provide the Armed Forces all the necessary resources to bolster its defence and professional capabilities. The army chief thanked the prime minister and expressed firm resolve of the Army to defend the country's sovereignty.
