Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabita Committee members Syed Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari advocate, Waseem Aftab and Saif Yar Khan held separate meetings with the ulema to promote inter-faith harmony and maintain peace during Muharram-ul-Haraam.
Shoaib Bukhari and Waseem Aftab met with prominent scholar, Allama Abbas Kumeli while Saif Yar Khan met with Maulana Tanveer-ul-Haq Thanvi, said a statement issued by MQM here on Sunday. Talking to ulema, the MQM leaders said their party believes in tolerance and it is taking practical steps to promote peace, brotherhood and inter-faith harmony.
They appealed to the ulema to spread message about respect for the humanity and respect the beliefs of each other. They said the MQM is striving practically to promote inter-faith harmony in the country and other parties should also follow this practice. During the meeting, the ulema also prayed for good health and long life of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain.
