The UN Refugees Agency (UNHCR) on Friday announced that all the Voluntary Repatriation Centers (VRCs) in Peshawar and Quetta will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday the 5th and 6th December on account of 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram. All UNHCR centers facilitating returns from Pakistan will resume work on December 7, 2011 (Wednesday).
The registered Afghans in Pakistan are encouraged to contact UNHCR helpline (between 8am to 8pm) on the below given phone numbers before approaching the VRCs. As per schedule, the VRC in Peshawar located in Gul Abad, Chamkani (GT Road) will be remain from Sunday to Thursday 8am till 3:30pm and will remain closed on Friday and Saturday.
Similarly, the Baleli VRC in Balochistan is located on the Quetta Chaman road, will remain opened on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 8am till 3:30pm. On Sunday it will remain opened from 8am till 12 noon, while it will remain closed on Thursday and Friday.
