BRUSSELS: Belgium's central bank has held 200 million euros ($244.5 million) worth of currency reserves in Chinese yuan since last year, a spokesman said on Tuesday.
"The national bank decided last year slightly to diversify its reserve portfolio, and it invested 200 million euros in Chinese yuan and 100 million euros in South Korean won," a spokesman said.
On Monday Germany's central bank said it was looking to place some of its currency reserves into yuan given the Chinese currency's increased global role.
