Central President of Awami National Party (ANP), Asfandyar Wali Khan, while expressing strongest condemnation over barbaric aggression by Nato forces in Mohmand agency, demanded of the government to go beyond condemnation and take strong action over the incident.
He expressed these views while addressing a public gathering in Swabi on Monday. Chief Minister KP, Amir Haider Hoti, Provincial Ministers including Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Syed Aqil Shah, Haji Zarsheed Khan, President ANP Sind and KP, Shahi Sayed and Afrasiab Khattak were also present on the occasion.
Asfandyar Wali said Mohmand Agency incident is very tragic and strongly condemnable as the Nato forces attacked the security personnel. The government should go beyond condemnation of such aggression and give a befitting response to allied forces for this inhumane act, he reiterated.
ANP Chief said we want peace in our land and because of this reason we are still extending offer of negotiation to militants if they lay arms and accept government's writ. Expressing his viewpoint on political developments in the country, he said some forces want to derail democracy in the country which will not only prove detrimental to system, but also to the country.
Country's future and stability fully depends on existence of democratic set-up which can be termed as inevitable for development and prosperity of the nation, he opined. He said ANP workers are rendering matchless sacrifices for the sustainability of democracy and for the development of the country. The sacrifices of ANP workers will be written in golden words in history.
Referring to some complaints about party workers, Asfandyar said if he was elected again as President of ANP in the elections which would be held in December, the provincial president of the party will submit reports on every fortnight about progress on redressing of worker's complaints. The public gathering was also addressed by Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Amir Haider Hoti.
