JI for stopping Nato supplies permanently

Published Updated

The Jamaat e Islami Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, has called upon the government to withdraw all the facilities extended to the US and permanent stoppage of Nato supplies in view of the blatant attack over military check posts on Saturday resulting in over two dozen deaths.
In a statement, he expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of military officers and troops in the unprovoked attack. The situation, he said, demanded a total policy review and not ad hoc measures.
Liaqat Baloch said that the US influence in the country was increasing with every passing day. The rulers had been condemning the US aggression from time to time only to avoid public wrath but were neither ready to implement the resolutions of the parliament or the APC nor for a policy review.
Liaqat Baloch said that the US aggression had been increasing only due to the cowardice of the rulers. In the beginning, the US/ Nato troops had been targeting civilians but now the troops were their target. He said the Air Force chief had already stated that military operations were not the solution of the situation. Therefore, he said, it was time to walk out from US war on terror.
He also urged the masses to unite under the banner of the JI, which had been continuing Go America Go campaign for about three years. He said the JI had warned of the consequences of the foreign policy long ago and the present situation fully vindicated the JI stance that the situation in the area could not improve in the presence of US troops in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
