Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Sitara Ayaz on Saturday informed that the provincial government would introduce House-based Workers Bill in the legislative assembly very soon in order to protect right house based women workers and give due status to them.
She said that the government has keenly focusing on the social and economic empowerment of women to provide them due status in the society. For the purpose, she informed the government has established women vocational, beautician, computer, cooking centres along-with provision of their skill development. She added that the basic objective is to give training self-employment generation and development of cottage industry for women at their own level.
She was speaking at a ceremony of to distribute Mora scholarship and cheques among the master degree holders, here in district Mardan. The minister stressed that the women should focus on their obligations along with rights in order to give a better and prosperous future to their children, saying our youth is great asset for the entire nation.
Ms Sitara Ayaz said that the government had initiated different pro-poor schemes, including Bacha Khan Akpal Rozar Scheme, through which extending loans on easy terms to people to play their role in development and progress of the country. She added that they are using all possible resources in this regard. She said that it is quite difficult for any successive government to provide job opportunity, adding that ANP government took pro-poor initiatives while keeping in view the challenge of unemployment in the province.
The minister called upon the youth to take fully benefit from the initiatives and said that government would completely support them. On the occasion, Member Provincial Assembly, Munawar Sultana, CM camp office, Chief Co-ordinator, Engr. Abbas Khan, Chairman District Zakat Committee, Shahid Khan, Commissioner Mardan, Mohammad Adil Khan, DCO Zakaullah Khattak, ACO, Hamesh Gul Khan, DOR Mohammad Ali Khan, and District Officer, Social Welfare, Iftikhar Takar were also present.
