Vietnam bank raises $90mn via dong bonds

Published Updated

vdbHANOI: The Vietnam Development Bank raised 1.9 trillion dong ($90 million) through an auction of government-guaranteed bonds last week at the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the exchange said.

The bank sold 1 trillion dong of three-year bonds at a yield of 12.19 percent and raised 900 billion dong via five-year debt at a yield of 12.25 percent last Friday, the exchange said in a statement.

The lender, one of Vietnam's two state policy lenders, has raised 10.26 trillion dong ($488 million) through bonds from the start of this year to Dec. 16. It did not sell any bonds in 2010, the exchange's data showed.

At the previous auction on Nov. 30, the bank sold 2.5 trillion dong of three-year and five-year bonds, at yields of between 12.20-12.25 percent.
