Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 103,486 tonnes of cargo comprising 75,977 tonnes of import cargo and 27,509 tonnes of export cargo including 3,495 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 75,977 tonnes comprised of 22,456 tonnes of containerised cargo; 32,842 tonnes of bulk cargo: 146 tonnes of DAP; 1,033 tonnes of wheat; 31,663 tonnes of coal and 20,679 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,509 tonnes comprised of 23,263 tonnes of containerised cargo; 100 tonnes of general cargo; 3,346 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,700 tonnes of talcum powder; 1,646 tonnes of cement and 800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely Gabion, Manuela, APL Zircon, OEL Trust, Haugaard Scan and MT Karachi carrying four container ships, one bulk cargo ship and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels viz STX Patraikos, Viona, OEL Trust, Pardis, Silver Zone, BSLE Pacific and Daewoo Diamond carrying five container ships, one bulk cargo ship and one oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely Silver Zone, Pardis, STX Patraikos, Nizar-M and Daewoo Diamond carrying three container ships, one wheat carrier and one oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while four ships namely Cher, Moor, Viona and Ocean Host carrying two oil tankers, one container ship and one coal carrier respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Three vessels viz Salis, President Adams and Fade-1 carrying two container ships and one wheat carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz Al-Ihsaa, Lahore Express, Venus Leader, Aegean Fantasy and Chemroute Sky carrying two container ships, two vehicles carriers and one ethanol ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 77,148 tonnes, comprising 67,191 tonnes of import cargo and 9,957 tonnes of export cargo was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 67,191 tonnes includes 40,161 tonnes of furnace oil; 500 tonnes of diesel oil; 8,400 tonnes of palm oil; 4,360 tonnes of seeds and 13,770 tonnes of phosphoric acid.
The total export cargo of 9,957 tonnes includes 3,882 tonnes of rice and 6,075 tonnes of cement. An edible oil vessel viz MT SC Belhai sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while a cement carrier namely MV Sargodha is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels MV Opal-II, MV Sargodha, MV Amira Dino, MV Silver Star, MV Lord Byron, MT SC Belhai, MT Bum Young and MT Sea Sky are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, rice, sunflower seeds, palm oil, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Argent Gerbera, SS Shenzhen, Alaska-II and CMA CGM Mozart with palm oil, cement and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz CV CMA CGM Mozart, CV Hanjin Elizabeth and MT Argent Gerbera carrying containers and palm oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Three container vessels viz CV Henry, CV San Amerigo and CV CMA CGM Wagner respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday. A total number of three container ships namely CV Elbe Trader, CV MSC Anafi and CV Mare Atlanticum are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
