Deserving patients in private hospitals, labs: chief minister considering to provide treatment at reasonable charges
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the Punjab government is considering the proposal of providing treatment and test facilities at reasonable charges to the deserving patients in private hospitals and laboratories. The chief minister presiding over a meeting held to review the ongoing drive for eradication of dengue virus in the province, here on Saturday.
Members National and Provincial Assembly, Chief Secretary, secretaries of various departments, experts and members of Indonesian medical team attended the meeting. The meeting also reviewed in detail the campaign "Qadam Barhao-Dengue Makao", provision of treatment facilities to the people and steps taken for controlling the dengue virus.
He said that keeping in view the benefit of free treatment and test facilities at fixed rates in private hospitals, the need was felt that such a system should be evolved under which, besides dengue, medical facilities to the under privileged people suffering from other diseases could be available at reasonable rates in private hospitals and laboratories. He said that a vigorous campaign regarding dengue virus was well under way and co-operation of the masses was greatly appreciated. He said that government was also making formal legislation for keeping the environment clean.
