The Monetary Policy Statement for the next two months will be delayed and will be released on October 8, as the Acting Governor of the State Bank will be abroad for dialogue with international financial institutions. The MPS, which is normally released in the last week of every alternate month (ie last week of July, September, November, January, March and May), will be delayed by a few days.
The Acting Governor of State Bank of Pakistan, Yaseen Anwar will proceed to Washington on September 20, 2011, to attend the Annual Meetings of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB). He is scheduled to return by October 5, 2011. The Central Board of Directors of the State Bank of Pakistan is scheduled to meet in Karachi on October 8 to approve the MPS for the months of October and November, 2011. After the Board meeting, the MPS will be announced through a press release.
