An agreement was signed between Bank of Punjab and Pak Suzuki Motors Company regarding the Yellow Cab Scheme here Tuesday. President Bank of Punjab, Naeem-ud-Din Khan and Managing Director Pak-Suzuki Motors Company, Hirofumi Nagao signed the agreement. Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that an excellent project of Yellow Cab Scheme has been evolved, enabling the educated youth to stand on their feet.
The scheme has been launched through transparent balloting in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Rawalpindi Divisions. He said that 20 thousand vehicles would be distributed among the youth under the scheme. He further said that not only the best transport facilities would be available to the people through this project, but local industry will also be promoted and economic activities increased.
The CM termed the agreement a good step and said that this programme will be expanded through mutual co-operation. He directed that the vehicles to be provided under the scheme should be of high quality and no compromise should be made in this regard. Chairman Punjab Land Development Company and Member Provincial Assembly, Sheikh Allauddin, Chief Secretary, Secretaries Finance and Transport and officers concerned were also present on the occasion.
