The Punjab government has on Monday approved construction of flyovers at the canal on Ferozepur Road and an underpass at Kainchi near Chungi Amar Sadho. Also, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed the concerned officials to complete Multan Road project by September 15 so that better travelling facilities could become available to the people as early as possible.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding development projects here on Monday, disclosed an official. Granting approval to the construction of flyovers and an underpass, the Chief Minister directed that these projects be completed with the resources of City District Government Lahore.
"The flyovers and an underpass will be constructed for streamlining the flow of traffic on Ferozepur Road; and instead of provincial government, the city government will provide resources for the projects," he added. He also constituted a committee for generating additional resources for development projects. He said repair and rehabilitation of the roads damaged due to construction of Kalma flyovers be completed at the earliest. He directed that horticulture be promoted in the province and maximum shady trees be planted at development projects.
According to him, infrastructure is of vital importance for speedy development; therefore special attention is being paid to the development of this sector. Development projects are being completed expeditiously and in a transparent manner in the province while horticulture is also being promoted on these projects.
