A powerful bomb was recovered in the precincts of Baghdadi police station on Monday. According to police sources, Baghdadi police station had received a call, which revealed that a powerful bomb was planted in an unclaimed bike parked near Maulvi Usman Park. Reacting to the information, heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
They said the police party and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) after search recovered a plastic box from the hidden cavity of a bike that carried 3-kg of high explosives, nuts and bolts. They said the miscreants had failed to detonate this locally-made bomb as the same was not properly attached with remote control device. Sources said the bike was snatched from Nabi Bux area some four days ago and was owned by Abdul Jabbar. Moreover, they said this bomb, if exploded, could have created hazardous impact on the objects in the range of three meters. No case was registered till filing of this report.
