The Supreme Court adjourned on Wednesday hearing in the case pertaining to Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah's statement against former Law Minister Babar Awan. Babar Awan had filed an application in the Supreme Court, praying for formation of a judicial commission to examine the statement of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah declaring him liable to killing.
Ramzan Chaudhry represented Awan whereas Additional Advocate General Khadim Hussain Qaisar submitted written reply on behalf of Rana Sanaullah before Justice Ghulam Rabbani in his Chamber where hearing in the case was resumed. Sannaullah contended that his statement was wrongly interpreted because it was not intended to harm Babar Awan. He said that leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz had already lodged protest in the House which was settled after a clarification on my part.
Rana prayed to dispose of the hearing because his statement against Awan was just symbolic. Counsel for Babar Awan informed the Court that he had received the copy of the written statement and prayed for some time to submit rejoinder on Rana's written statement. Justice Ghulam Rabbani adjourned the hearing till September 13.
