NAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling firmed on Friday to a new eight-month high against the dollar helped by farm and tourism inflows, and on expectation of the central bank continuing to mop up shilling liquidity.
At 0640 GMT, commercial banks posted the shilling at 83.90/84.10 against the dollar -- a level it last touched on May 9 -- and stronger than Thursday's close of 85.00/10.
