At least three persons on Wednesday sustained injuries in a drive-by grenade attack that was hurled at Rice warehouse in the limits of Maripur police station. According to police, two unknown culprits, riding on a bike, threw hand grenade at Rice warehouse namely 'Polari Rice Mill' and ran away, leaving three persons namely Hazoor Baksh, Bashir and Arshad Niazi injured. The injured were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
SHO Maripur said the attack was made in the context of refusal to pay the ransom money by warehouse owner. He said the evidences were collected from the spot and added that it was Russian made hand grenade. No case was registered till filing of this report.
