Sixteen Pakistanis have been released from the Afghanistan's slave labour and talks are underway for release of more Pakistanis who are languishing in the private jails of Afghanistan. This was stated by Chairman of Ansar Burney Trust and human rights activist Ansar Burney during a press conference here at FC headquarters on Wednesday.
Flanked by Inspector General Frontier Corps of Balochistan Major General Obaidullah Khan Khatak, he said that on being informed by the relatives of 16 Pakistanis smuggled from the Qambar area of Sindh to Afghanistan by the human traffickers, Burney Trust with the help of Frontier Corps contacted Afghan officials which resulted in their safe and early release.
"Hundreds of more Pakistanis are living in very miserable conditions in the private jails of Afghanistan," he claimed and added that human traffickers allure the poor and uneducated youth in Pakistan of bright future and sell them to agents in Afghanistan and other countries.
The deported people from Pakistan are put in the private jails and are forced into the slave labour. "FC was holding talks with the authorities in Afghanistan about the release of more illegally immigrated Pakistanis, he said urging media to raise voice against the human trafficking and expose influential people involved in this heinous crime. "We should raise voice against the injustices committed against the suppressed segment of the society," he added. On the occasion, IG FC Obaidullah Khatak said poor people are cheated and exploited on a promise of better jobs. They are some times derailed by the outlaws and used for terrorism in the country.
