Anti-smuggling organisation, Model Custom Collectorate Multan has foiled an attempt to smuggle POL products into Multan via Bunnu and seized 718kgs of grease and mobile oil worth Rs 1.4 million from a truck No 3119 -Dera Ismail Khan-E. An official press note said that on a credible information that a huge quantity of foreign origin POL products like mobil oil, High Speed Diesel, Grease etc were being smuggled to Multan and upcountry from Iran via Bannu.
The staff of Anti Smuggling organisation intercepted the truck at toll-plaza of River Chenab .Cursory checking of the loaded truck with shredded plastic scarp and PVC sacks but underneath were concealed corrugated cartons containing foreign origin mobil oil and grease. A thorough destuffing of truck led to recovery of different varieties of foreign origin mobil oil and grease weighing 7218kgs.The goods along with truck have been seized under relevant provisions of Custom Act,1969. Further investigation is in progress.
