The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Monday that the moon of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak had been sighted in the country on Monday. The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Commit-tee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, after chairing the meeting of the committee held at Met Office here on Monday. He announced that First of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, 1432 Hijri, would fall on August 2, 2011 (Tuesday).
The meeting was attended by Members of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Maulana Anwar-ul- Haq, Mufti Abdul Qavi, Maulana Ubaidullah Panhwer, Maulana Shabbir Ahmed, and Qazi Niaz Hussain. The members of the Zonal Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Karachi Mufti Syed Sabir Hussain, Maulana Sabir Noorani, Maulana Munir Ahmed Tariq, Maulana Nazir Ahmed, Hafiz Ahmed Sulfi, Maulana Asad Deobandi, Official of the Met Office Naeem Shah and others also attended the meeting.
Mufti Muneeb -ur-Rehman said the confirmations of moon sighting were received from many parts of the country including Karachi, Islamabad, Wah Cantonment, Batgaram, Rawlakot, Saeedabad, Khipro and Sahiwal. He said many offices of the Meteorological Department also confirmed sighting of the moon of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. Expressing gratitude to the ulema of different schools of thought, he said they always endorsed and supported the decision of Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee. He said: "We believe in an amicable settlement of all matters through process of dialogue".
