Sugar and cocoa futures steadied while coffee dipped early on Wednesday as players awaited an EU summit on Thursday to resolve the eurozone debt crisis and a possible solution to avert a US debt default. "There's too much at stake here," said James Cordier, senior analyst at brokerage optionsellers.com in Florida.
ICE September arabica futures fell 0.40 cent to trade at $2.4345 per lb at 12:11 pm EDT (1611 GMT). New York's October raw sugar contract had added 0.09 cent to trade at 28.87 cents per lb as of 12:13 pm New York's September cocoa contract rose $19 to end at $3,183 per tonne.
