Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan has said that all those persistently ignoring the rights of the Balochistan people would soon be in the people's court. He said people all over the country would have to intensify pressure on the government for redressing the grievances of Balochistan people to restore their confidence.
According to the press statement, issued on Monday, JI chief said this in his message for the Balochistan people on the eve of the JI sit-in in Quetta as a mark of JI's solidarity with the oppressed people of the country's largest province. JI will observe Balochistan Day all over the country and stage solidarity camps at major cities.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that hundreds of men and women have been picked up from Balochistan and their maimed dead bodies are being found every day, which is causing provocation among the people. He said the government has failed to maintain law and order and check the lawlessness of the official agencies. People have lost faith in the government due to its double policy. He said the Baloch people were deprived of basic facilities and their youth did not have job opportunities, which is deepening their sense of deprivation. Sui gas is not available to the people of the province and its agriculture has been ruined due to load shedding of electricity.
Balochistan, he said, is full of resources and the US had its eyes on the province. It is trying to destabilise the province with the support of India and Israel to achieve its goal. If the rulers did not open their eyes, things would go out of hand and the whole nation would have to suffer. The JI chief appealed to the people of Balochistan to forge unity in their ranks and join hands with the JI for their rights.
He also called upon the government to accept the supremacy of the judiciary, stop the extra judicial killings and recover the missing men and women. He said the murder case of Nawab Muhammad Akbar Bugti be registered and the rights of Balochistan people on the resources of the province be accepted. He also called upon the Army Chief General Kiyani to fulfil his word of withdrawal troops from Baluchistan. He said the apprehensions of Baloch people with regard to gas royalty, Gowadar port, Saindhak and Ricko Dek projects must be removed and a dead line should be given for the recovery of thousands of people picked up by the agencies.
