The Customs export staff has recovered heroin from a parcel-bound from Lahore to China. According to a press release issued here Monday, the Custom export staff inspectors Waheed Bhatti and Asim Qamar were conducting examination of the exportable gift parcels in presence of postal staff.
A parcel bearing tracking number EE002457898 Pk was presented for examination by the postal staff. During the course of examination, the said parcel was found containing one gent's shirt, two vests, one lady shameez and 25 pairs of socks. The card board/papers board tags of the socks were cut off with knife for examination and brown powder was recovered from within. On through examination, it was found to be heroin.
The weight of recovered heroin was found to be 50 grams whereas the total weight of the parcel is 1534 grams. The value of the said amount of heroin in the international market in rupees is 300,000 approximately. The documents revealed that the said parcel was booked from Model Town Lahore post office for China through international speed post service of General post office. It is pertinent to mention here that the concealment was made by the sender very tactfully, the press release concluded.-PR
