Bullish trend was seen on the wholesale grain market on Tuesday as most of traders came back to their workplaces after three-day as city was disturbed due to law and order situation, dealers said. Commenting on the latest situation in the city, some commodity traders said that participants were afraid of poor law and order in the metropolis, business community is still under pressure, but somehow, back to the work but not sure about any kind of security from the government, they said.
On the cereals side, wheat old and new Bardan both fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2550-2565, besides, demand for gur increased ahead of Ramazan, resulting low type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 6800 and better quality was higher by Rs 400 to Rs 8200, dealers said. On the grams side, guwar Sindh gained Rs 100 to Rs 5500-5600 and guwar Punjab also followed the same pattern, gaining same amount to Rs 5400-5500, they said.
On the rice sector Irri 6 Sindh low variety posted fresh gain of Rs 25 to Rs 3825 while the best type did not move any side at Rs 3900, other items held the overnight level, they said. Some changes were seen on the seeds side, rapeseeds Nawabshah low type picked up Rs 25 to Rs 2275 and good type was sharply up by Rs 100 to 2375 and cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type fell by Rs 30 to Rs 1350 and best variety dropped by Rs 25 to Rs 1425, they said.
