Former AJK Prime Minister and Head of Election Campaign, PPP, Azad Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said on Sunday that there were some positives aspects in the Pak-India talks as both the countries were engaged to discuss all the outstanding issues including Kashmir.
He said that situation on the Line of Control (LoC) will also be discussed during talks between the two neighbours to be held on July 18 in New Delhi and welcomed the proposed visit of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar after the Secretaries level talks.
He made these remarks while talking to a delegation led by British Foreign Office's Director for South Asia, Andrew Patrick, which called on him here.
Barrister Sultan Mehmood said that Britain and other European countries should support these talks and Kashmiris who are real party of the issue, should also be brought to the negotiating table.
There would be no permanent solution to the Kashmir issue, unless the Kashmiris are included in the dialogue process and there would not be any progress on it.
He stressed on the British delegation to arrange intra-Kashmiri dialogue enabling leadership of the both sides of Kashmir to sit together and discuss the Kashmir issue in detail.
Barrister Sultan Mehmood also briefed the delegation about the recent general election of Azad Kashmir and said that the elections were held in free, fair and transparent manner.
He hoped that the new government having a popular support would raise the Kashmir issue in a better and appropriate way.
