The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released official chart of the provisional revenue collection here on Saturday, confirming the record collection of Rs 1590 billion during 2010-11 against the target of Rs 1588 billion, reflecting an increase of over Rs 2 billion.
The month-wise revenue collection chart issued by the FBR for 2010-11 shows that the provisional collection in June 2011 stood at around Rs 278 billion against target of Rs 268 billion, showing an increase of Rs 10 billion. The month-wise collection chart (2010-11) further shows that the revenue collection in July 2010 stood at Rs 77.1 billion; August 2010 around Rs 100 billion; September 2010 Rs 116.4 billion; October 2010 Rs 103.5 billion; November 2010 Rs 103.1 billion; December 2010 Rs 161.6 billion; January 2011 Rs 108.4 billion; February 2011 around Rs 106 billion; March 2011 Rs around 144 billion, April Rs 130 billion; May Rs 162.6 billion and revenue collection in the month of June 2011 amounted to around Rs 278 billion. Total provisional revenue collection for the whole fiscal year stood at Rs 1590 billion against the target of Rs 1588 billion for 2010-11.
The FBR chart further shows that the revenue collection during first quarter (July-September) 2010-11 was Rs 293.4 billion, second quarter (October-December) Rs 368.2 billion, third quarter (January-March) Rs 358.2 billion and so far provisional revenue collection in the fourth quarter (April-June) stood at Rs 570.2 billion.
When contacted, sources told Business Recorder that the FBR will shortly issue detailed tax-wise chart of provisional revenue collection for 2010-2011 after compiling of final figures. However, monthly revenue collection chart of 2010-11 has confirmed revenue collection figures announced by the FBR on June 30, 2011, which stood at around Rs 278 billion.
It is important to mention that the Chairman Salman Siddique had reportedly said that the achievement of the target of Rs 1588 billion would clear the doubts about the continuation of the IMF program. The revenue collection is expected to reach Rs 1600 billion on compilation of final figures in coming days, he added.
