Importing raw material: LCCI members advised to follow pre-inspection rules
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday advised all its members to follow pre-inspection rules while importing raw material as there were some black sheep that were continuously befooling Pakistani importers by shipping wrong/fake items as a result they had lost their money.
The LCCI has received a number of complaints from its members during the last week that they placed orders for the import of some chemical to some companies in a neighbouring country but on receiving the shipment they found simple water in the drums supposed to be filled with ordered raw material.
The LCCI knew well that businessmen were honest but there were some black sheep who were tarnishing their image in the eyes of Pakistani businessmen. Senior Vice President LCCI, Sheikh Mohammad Arshad said that the LCCI has approached the foreign ambassadors working in Pakistan to solve this problem. He hoped things would improve in the near future. However, it was necessary for all the businessmen to follow pre-inspection rules while doing business with foreign companies to avoid any losses, he said.
