The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International which is world's largest humanitarian service organisation honours Pakistan by nominating Muhammad Faiz Kidwai as the Regional Rotary Foundation Chair for Rotary International Zone 6-B comprising 9 countries ie Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore and Thailand. This is first time in history that a Pakistani has been nominated for this prestigious position.
Faiz who professionally is an Architect and a businessman is a Partner Consultants Group. He joined Rotary in 1987 and is currently a member of Rotary Club of Karachi Karsaz. He became the Governor of Rotary International for District 3270 (Pakistan and Afghanistan) in 2005-6 and has served at numerous positions at district as well as international level.
He is presently also serving as Chairman Rotary Leadership Institute (Pakistan and Afghanistan Division), Chairman College of Governors, Chairman Rotary Humanitarian Trust, Country Representative Rotary Shelter Box Trust UK etc. He has tremendously contributed in the development of social sector all over Pakistan and has been involved in arranging, managing as well as executing huge international financial and In kind support in numerous projects related to disaster relief and rehabilitation, education and literacy, water and sanitation, health and hygiene, polio eradication, shelter for under privileged families, poverty alleviation and regional peace.-PR
