Nawaz to meet businessmen in Karachi

LAHORE: PML-N President Nawaz Sharif will be in Karachi on a three-day visit, from December 19 to 21, to have interaction with businessmen to update his knowledge about issues posed to the business community.

This was stated by PML-N leader Muhammad Pervaiz while talking to Business Recorder.

According to him, the PML-N head is deeply concerned over the country's economic situation and, in the light of discussions with the businessmen, recommendations would be compiled.

Sources claimed that Nawaz would also meet some political activists during his visit to Karachi and there is a possibility that some political figures may also join the PML-N.

Pervaiz said that gas load shedding is badly affecting industrial sector growth and will leave a negative impact on the overall economy of the country. According to him, the wheel of the industry has halted due to worst gas load shedding in Faisalabad and other industrial areas, as a result of which the poor workers have been deprived of sources of livelihood and they have taken to streets. He said that there is also possibility of cancellation of export orders of billions of rupees due to load shedding.

He said that bad the governance of PPP-led government has brought the country to the verge of disaster. Price hike and unemployment are making the life of the people miserable. Had PPP government implemented guidelines given by the PML-N President, it would not have to face present situation, he added. He said that the PML-N gave positive and practical suggestions to the government but instead of implementing the same, the government did not pay any head to it. He said the national institutions have been ruined and new tales of corruption are coming to the fore daily.

Pervaiz said the PML-N leadership is determined to put the country on the road to progress by steering it out of the crises. "Today, every patriotic Pakistani is looking towards PML-N President Nawaz Sharif for bringing the country out of the crises and putting it on the road to progress," he added.
