Leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Sindh chapter have rejected the Federal Budget for new fiscal year 2011-12 and said that it is not according to the desires of public. In a joint statement issued on Saturday, Secretary General JUI Sindh Senator Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, Secretary Information Muhammad Aslam Ghauri and others said government has prepared the budget as per the demands of IMF and World Bank (WB).
They said no measures have been taken in the budget to bring down the prices of basic commodity, instead subsidies on these things were withdrawn, they added. They said increase in government employees' salaries is a joke and added that it is very less and not according to the rise in inflation. Criticising the opposition parties they said uproar in the parliament cannot solve problems of the public instead these parties should be act seriously and resist budget's passing by the parliament.
