In order to ensure a safer city Under "Safe City Project", Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Aslam Tareen inaugurated six new closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at Ravi Bridge Shahdara here Saturday. DIG Operations, Rao Sardar Ali, SSP Operations, Rana Faisal Ali and SP Romael Akram were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Aslam Tareen said that it is the need of the hour to depute guards at various important business centres and shops that have been duly verified by the local police, along with ensuring installation of CCTV cameras. This, he added, will go a long way in eliminating criminal elements and making the provincial metropolis a bastion of law and order. He noted that strong teamwork along-with co-operation of traders, people and media is essential for good policing. He called upon the business community to extend complete co-operation to the law enforcing agencies in order to help them maintain law and order.
The CCPO directed police officers to ensure strict surveillance of all crowded places in the city, besides ensuring quick installation of CCTV cameras at banks, money changers, financial institutions, patrol pumps, industrial units and all other places dealing in cash business in their respective areas. He also ordered foolproof security arrangements for media offices, Press Club and other important official buildings in the provincial metropolis.
