ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday directed the deputy attorney general to obtain details about the promotion case of Rao Tehsin Ali Khan, a Grade-21 Information Officer, from the Establishment Division and submit the same on Wednesday.
Justice Aamer Farooq of the IHC heard the petition filed by Rao Tehsin Ali Khan, who is a former Principal Information Officer, seeking court's directive for the High Powered Selection Board to consider his name for promotion to Grade 22.
Rao Tehsin, in his petition under Article 199 of the Constitution through Advocate Qaiser Imam, took the plea that on September 14, the IHC had ordered the Establishment Division to consider his name for promotion to Grade 22.
The Establishment Division had also given its assurance in that regard, but it did not abide by its commitment, which was tantamount to the contempt of court.
He also asked the IHC to summon the minutes of last meeting of High Powered Selection Board.
During the course of proceedings, Justice Aamer Farooq remarked that the Registrar Office had given its observation on his petition that the decision on the main case had been reserved and after it announcement the petition would be numbered.
