During the last two weeks, both the US and the UK have severely castigated the PPP-led government for what these countries say Islamabad's utter failure to effectively manage the affairs of the state.
Both the US and the UK have criticised the ruling government for rampant mismanagement of the administrative organs of the state, the monetary policies, particularly in the areas of economy, revenue collection, taxation, lack of governance, accountability, failure to curb corruption, extremism and to improve law and order. In their view, corruption and lawlessness are rising in the country, exponentially. No sane Pakistani would disagree with these contentions.
The US, in particular, has come down heavily on Pakistan for what it says this South Asian nation's reluctance to take on the extremists, militants and the terrorists effectively, playing havoc both in Pakistan and Afghanistan with their dastardly, murderous attacks and suicide bombings, with canny regularity, taking a heavy toll on the innocent population.
