Federal Minister for Industries and Production Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani presided over the meeting regarding computerisation of networking of the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) here.
MD USC Arif Khan while briefing the meeting said that PC-1 regarding the computerisation of the USC network has been prepared. Copies of the prepared PC-1 have already been circulated among all the members of Development Working Party (DWP).
The meeting of the DWP has been convened on 14-04-2011 for the approval of PC-1. Once the said PC-1 is approved by the DWP then it would be presented within a week before the Board of Directors (BoD) of USC for seeking its approval of implementation on PC-1, MD added.
Arif Khan further briefed the meeting participants that computerisation of the USC networking would help in reducing pilferage as well as reducing the present inventory level to a half. It will also help in reducing discretion. Stocks and deficiencies would be more transparent. Further, stocks ins and outs transactions of the warehouses would be more neat and clean. Less and excessive stock position of the whole stores, particularly of remote areas, would be within the eyesight of the Headquarters' administration. Demand and supply of each and every store would be maintained more transparently.
The Minister, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani while appreciating the efforts of MD USC in preparing PC-1 said that computerisation of the USC networking will be a big leap against the various kinds of corruption as reported day to day in media. Computerised networking would definitely help in plugging the leakages in the present the USC system.
The Minister urged the MD to go ahead and computerise the networking as soon as possible. If there is any mafia involved in delaying the computerisation of USC. I fully support and back up "U and Your team" on computerisation of USC system. It would be a great service to nation on your part if the USC is computerised. Therefore it must be completed within the shortest possible time, the Minister added. Senior officers of the Ministry and USC attended this meeting.-PR
