The total open interest position at the futures counter increased by 11.8 percent to Rs 1.48 billion during the week ended on April 8, 2011. The futures spread also surged by 176bps to 9.69 percent. Trading, however, remained low and the average daily volume at the futures counter declined by 12 percent to 3.1 million shares.
