Everyday is a holiday!

I was shocked to hear that our government is considering announcing possibly two holidays in a week. We, the people of Sindh, particularly those who live in Karachi, enjoy more holidays than any nation on earth. A bunch of sensible national, religious and cultural holidays are acceptable but others are hardly defensible.
Life comes to a standstill in Karachi quite often. Riots, protests, strikes, terrorist attacks, targeted killings, sectarian and ethnic violence rule the city every other day.
Now two more official holidays in a week will not only bring the economy to a grinding halt but will also make a mockery of the academic calendar. We cannot afford playing more with our nation's future on feeble excuses of saving energy.
