All Pakistan CNG Association on Friday threatened to go on an indefinite strike from Wednesday throughout Punjab to protest against the ongoing weekly gas load shedding in the province and unjust distribution of gas as well as the forcible demolition of petrol pumps by the government of Punjab.
Chairman Supreme Council All Pakistan CNG Association Ghayas Abdullah Paracha, announced this while addressing a press conference along with the office bearers of All Pakistan Petroleum Retailers Association in Lahore Press Club. He also announced that around 400 petrol pumps of the Lahore along with the 2267 CNG stations of Punjab, including Lahore, will be closed on Wednesday.
"The petrol pumps'' association will also support our strike with closure of petrol supply; till acceptance of demands our strike will continue," Paracha added. Paracha said that there would be a complete closure of CNG stations through out Punjab on Wednesday, which is other then weekly gas load shedding of CNG. Paracha while criticising both Punjab and federal government said that they are with the big industrialists because they gave donation to their parties and that''s why there was practically no gas load shedding for the big industry.
Petroleum dealers also demanded the increase of commission of petroleum retailers adding that there commission is very meagre. He said that Punjab government would announce clear-cut policy regarding petrol pumps. He also criticised the forcible demolition of petrol and CNG pumps. He said that provincial government is not solving the issue of lease of government land. Piracha alleged that there was no gas load shedding on the pumps of political personalities in different regions.
