The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), as part of celebrations in connection with the 'Lahore Shopping Festival' is holding a 'Vintage Car Rally in the city on Tuesday (today) to create awareness amongst the younger generation about classic car models.
The rally that will start from Liberty Chowk at 3:00 pm will culminate in front of the LCCI building after passing through main boulevard and jail road, said Tahir Malik Chief Executive Trafco Tracking and sponsor of this colourful event while addressing a press conference here Monday.
Malik claimed that this would be most interesting event of eight-day Lahore Shopping Festival being organised by the Lahore Chamber under which numerous activities have been planned like vintage car rally, bicycle rally, exhibition, Qirat competition etc.He said first time ever such a car rally is being held in the city and 'cat walk' of over 50 years old car would attract interest of large number of people, he hoped and added that till date 35 people have got registered themselves as participants of this rally. It would also encourage the owners of classic old cars.
Malik said his organisation would continue sponsoring such healthy activities in future too as its corporate social responsibility. He said that full security is being provided by the Punjab government through out the route of the rally. He also appreciated the efforts of LCCI President Shahzad Ali Malik and Senior Vice-President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad for organising such events to provide healthy entertainment to people of Lahore.
