The police, who are supposed to enforce law, protect property and reduce civil disorder, have now turned to be ravagers for the society as another policeman was arrested over the charge of dacoity within the limits of Gulshan Iqbal police station.
According to the details, the incident took place at Gulshan Chowrangi when two bandits, who were trying to loot valuable stuff from pedestrians, were nabbed by police party after brief encounter. These bandits, who were identified as Athar Qureshi and Waheed, were arrested by policy patrolling party when they were busy in looting valuables from passers-by at Gulshan Chowrangi in Gulshan Iqbal.
The police had also recovered two TT pistols and snatched cell phones from their possession. Later, one of the robbers Athar was recognised as police constable of Aziz Bhatti police station.
When contacted station officer of Gulshan Iqbal area, confirmed that two bandits were caught red-handed and one of them was police constable and deployed in Aziz Bhatti police station. He said that they had registered a case against them and further investigation is in process. Needless to mention that many police officers were accused in several criminal cases but it is rarely seen that anyone of them was taken to task, as they all are "Peeti Band Brothers".
