The Lahore shopping festival will begin on Sunday (today) at Polo Club, Race Course Park (Ghulam Gillani Park). The festival is being jointly organised by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Punjab government. Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif is likely to be the chief guest.
A polo match is also part of the inauguration ceremony. Invitations have been sent to the ministers, bureaucrats and businessmen. Polo Tournament, Husna Qirat Competition, Young Entrepreneur Business Plan Competition, Photographic Competition, Vintage Car Rally, World Punjabi Organisation Musical Evening, Business Walk, Lahore Wrestling Championship, 1st Expo Punjab, Motor Bike Rally, Fashion Show, Conference on "Investment Opportunities in Lahore, Cycle Race, Concert & Cultural Show are on the cards.
As many as 250 renowned business groups are showcasing their products at the three-day first Punjab Expo. On the sidelines of the exhibition an Investment conference would also be held at Lahore Expo Centre Auditorium where leading economic experts would be highlighting the potential of Punjab. A methodology to overcome the economic challenges being faced by the country would be given to the government. The first Punjab Expo would be "Made in Punjab" in true sense of the word.
Qualifying rounds for Qirat competition had already been completed while final of the competition would be held on April 4th. Vintage Car Rally is a unique event as more than 50 vintage cars are taking part in this rally. In the photography exhibition/composition as many as 200 photographers are taking part. The photography exhibition not only highlights the tourism potential of Lahore but it would also shows modern Lahore to the outer world. The main objective of the festival is to expedite the business activities in this part of the country.
