The Karachi Port handled 137,818 tonnes of cargo including 94,152 tonnes of import cargo, 43,666 tonnes of export cargo and 3,070 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 94,152 tonnes comprised of 12,941 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,412 tonnes of general cargo and 71,799 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 43,666 tonnes comprised of 31,026 tonnes of containerised cargo; 607 tonnes of general cargo; 12,033 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,659 tonnes of cement and 7,374 tonnes of wheat. Five ships namely Manila Express, HS Challenger, STX Patriakos, Nam Aob and Apuana-D with three container ships and two general cargoes sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz MSC Ayala, Kota Anggerik, Almathea, Alexi-1, Apuana-D, Abadeh and Neverland Sun carrying three container ships, cement carrier, steel, crude oil and LSFO respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely MSC Ayala, Alpaine Penelope, Almathea and Laconia with containers, oil tanker and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Friday, while three ships namely Marcherokee, Abadeh and Neverland Sun carrying containers, crude oil and LSFO respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Seven vessels viz MT Lahore, Ital Ottima, OOCL Dalian, Ocean Jade, TC Gold and Black Eagle with crude oil, three container ships, DAP, coal and wheat carrier respectively due to arrive on Friday, while seven vessels viz Iris Victoria, Pertiwi, Dl Sunflower, Shayan-1, Marcampania, MOL Success, Patton-1 and Al-Khaliq with jet oil, three container ships, steel and wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 53,319 tonnes includes 37,689 tonnes of furnace oil; 11,430 tonnes of palm oil and 4,200 tonnes of chemicals. The total export cargo includes 4,555 tonnes of wheat. A chemicals carrier namely MT Sigloo Moon is expected to sail on Friday afternoon.
A total number of four vessels viz MV Tycoon, MT Sigloo Moon, MT Primo Stealth and MT Theresa Blossom are currently occupying berths to load/offload wheat, chemicals, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours. Seven ships namely Glory, APL Chile, Marguerite Rickmers, Shinyo Ayush, Orient-III, Sam Eagle and Al-Soor-II carrying containers, coal, cement, wheat and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz CV APL Chile, CV Glory, MV Sam Eagle and MV Shinyo Ayush scheduled to load/offload containers, wheat, diesel oil and coal respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) and Iron Ore & Coal Berth respectively on Friday. Two ships: a chemicals carrier MT Pertiwi and a containers ship namely CV MSC Magali due to arrive on Friday, while another containers ship namely CV Libra Ipanema is due to arrive on Saturday. A total number of three vessels viz CV Mearsk Georgia, CV MSC Ayala and MT Chemroad Nova carrying containers and palm oil are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
