'Young generation should be apprised of creation of Pakistan'

Prominent artist, social worker and peace activist Jimmy Engineer has stressed the need for apprising younger generation of creation of Pakistan. Talking to journalists and students of the Aitchison College prior to his return to Karachi after more than a weeklong stay in Lahore.
He said that Pakistan was created after great struggle and sacrifices offered by the Muslims under the inspiring leadership of the Quaid-e-Azam and it is direly needed that the future generations of the motherland should continuously be apprised of the Pakistan Movement. He said this would help them understand how and why Pakistan was created and what they could do in building a strong, united, integrated, developed and progressive Pakistan through hard work, determination, commitment and sincerely in the years ahead.
He said that he was very happy to note the keen interest which the young students had shown in his selected solo art show in general and the Pakistan Movement paintings prints in particular recently held at the Aitchison College.
He said depicting different aspects of the Pakistan Movement in paintings is one way of apprising the younger generation of creation of Pakistan. He said for achieving this cherished objective, his famous Pakistan Movement painting series canvass and paper prints should be exhibited and displayed in educational institutions throughout the country on a regular basis.
Jimmy said as a matter of fact, his original Pakistan Movement paintings are quite huge and carry very high price in international market and as such these cannot be transported around frequently for their security and safety. He, however, said that canvass and paper prints of these could be displayed in educational institutions and elsewhere as much as desired. He said paper prints of the Pakistan Movement paintings and other selected work was displayed at the Aitchison College under the auspices of the Art Society and the young students had showed great interest and keenly viewed the exhibits displayed in the exhibition titled 'A Journey'.
