A special cell, to be headed by Senior Superintendent Police rank officer is being set up by the home department to look into the complaints of extortion. According to a spokesperson of the department, the decision was taken by Home Minister, Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza in consultation with Advisor on Home Affairs, Sharfuddin Memon.
Mirza directed Inspector General Police Sindh, Capital City Police Officer, Karachi and other top ranking police officials to finalise establishment of the cell as soon as possible. The cell will investigate all complaints against "bhatta mafia" and take action against those involved in collection of money from the business people. The entire action would be supervised by Home Minister and his Advisor on Home Affairs.
