Refusal to host Pakistan cost India the Asia Cup

The Indian cricketing board, on Monday has refused to host the upcoming Asia Cup, scheduled for September 2018.
As per reports, the decision was made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after its reluctance to host Pakistan and was taken during the board’s Governing Body meeting.
Earlier, it was reported that if India does not allow hosting the Pakistan cricket team for the tournament, the country would need to inform the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for an alternate host country.
"It's not clear whether the Government of India will allow the Pakistan team to travel to India for the tournament. If not, then the BCCI needs to inform the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) of the same so that an alternative host country can be finalized," according to the minutes of a meeting of the BCCI’s Committee of Administrators (CoA), it was reported earlier.
India last played arch-rivals Pakistan in a bilateral tournament in 2012-13 at home. They have not played a Test series since India hosted Pakistan in 2007. Meanwhile, the neighboring Pakistan cricket team visited India to play the 2011 World Cup and the 2016 World T20.
