The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has set up Public Cash/Card Payment Machines (PCPM) in the provincial metropolis in order to enable its customers to pay telephone bills. Senior Executive Vice President (Business) PTCL, Nasir Iqbal inaugurated the first machine at M.M. Alam Road in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the launch portrays not only the company's effective relationship building with its valued customers but also establishes it as an innovative entity which is striving to find better solutions. He also highlighted the basic features of the machines and said these machines bring great facility to the PTCL customers, as they will not be required to wait in long queues to pay their PTCL bills. The introduction of PTCL Bill Payment Points is another step in that direction, he said.
Such machines, in the first phase, are being installed in Karachi Lahore, Faisalabad and Islamabad, which would provide the customers the facility to pay at their convenience at any time. Bill Payment Points accept partial and advance payments with automatic and immediate restoration of suspended connections on payment, as the customer's account will be updated immediately. Bill Payments Machines have operating functions similar to ATMs and are operated through a touch screen interface, he added.
With the introduction of PTCL Bill Payment Machine, the customers can avoid the hassle of standing in long queues to pay their PTCL bills. They can make the bill payment at the nearest PTCL Bill Payment Machine, get an automated receipt and also receive an SMS confirming the payments within few minutes of the transaction. These machines accept currency notes from Rs 5,000 denominations with easy handling feature along with the option of English or Urdu as the medium of instruction, he said.
The pilot project includes the installation of these machines at Metro Islamabad, Ali Tower Lahore, One Stop Shop - Clifton Karachi, Metro Faisalabad, and Revenue Office Islamabad. This service will be expanded and the Bill Payment Machines will be available across the country.
