Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, has said that 58 percent population of Punjab is comprised of youth up to age of 25 years and this human resource is our precious asset. He said that by equipping the youth with modern knowledge and training, socio-economic uplift of the province can be ensured.
He said that government is spending Rs 136 billion on the education sector for capacity building of our youth so that they can play their active role in the development of the country. He expressed these views while addressing a group of under training officers included in 37th training course at National Police Academy on Wednesday. The delegation was led by Deputy Commandant DIG Police Afzal Malik. Secretary Higher Education Haseeb Athar, Additional Secretary School Education Ali Hussain Malik and other officers were present on the occasion.
Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa maintained that Punjab government has provided substantial funds for the development schemes of police department and provision of facilities to the police officers. He said that Punjab government has acknowledged the sacrifices of those who laid their lives while protecting the life and property of the people and encouraged the officers and officials showing outstanding performance with cash prizes.
He said that government is not interfering the police department and Punjab Chief Minister is appointing district and divisional level officers with the consultation of IG Punjab while police officers are authorised for appointment at junior posts. Replying to a question with regard to Daanish Schools, Senior Advisor said that out of a total of education budget of Rs 136 billion, only three billion rupees are being spent on the project of Daanish Schools and government is not neglecting other public sector schools.
